How can I prepare for the TOEIC exam?

TOEIC learning route

How to get the best TOIEC score?

TOEIC is one of the benchmark tests in the professional world. A minimum TOEIC score is often required to validate a training program, confirm a diploma or be recruited for an international position.

How to pass the test and get the maximum score? monceau Langues gives you a few tips:

1. Conduct mock exams.

A number of sites offer mock exams to put you through your paces:
- ETS Global: the official site of the organization that created the TOEIC test offers 34 questions from parts 1 to 7 of the official test. The aim is to give you about half an hour's practice. It's only an overview, but it will give you a concrete idea of the questions you'll be asked on the day of the test.
- Global Exam: this site offers you the chance to take a free TOEIC test, and also provides advice on how to pass the test.

2. Familiarize yourself with TOEIC topics

Certain lexical fields recur very regularly in exam subjects, such as:
Company: human resources (recruitment, contracts, hiring, dismissal), relations between employees, company departments (purchasing, R&D, production, quality control...).) ;
- Communication & technologies
- Finance & budget (investments, taxes, invoicing,...) ;
- Transport (travel arrangements, business trips,...) ;
- Entertainment (business meals, tourism, culture, media,...) ;
- Health (relations with doctors, insurance,...).

As these topics are recurrent, the more you practice, the more familiar you'll become with the vocabulary specific to TOEIC themes. So you'll be more efficient and confident on test day.

3. Working on "passive" English

By watching films or series in VO, listening to BBC podcasts or the radio, conversing in English...
The more you immerse yourself in the English language, the more your listening and comprehension skills will improve.
