SELF-EMPLOYED AND FREELANCE WORKERS: HOW TO TRAIN?

As we all know, ongoing training is an integral part of professional life. For freelancers, training is essential, as it enables them to improve their skills, broaden their range of services, expand internationally and facilitate the management of their business. In today's increasingly competitive environment, it's vital to stand out from the crowd. Above all, companies are looking for service providers with real expertise and a growth dynamic: training can help you make the difference and develop your potential!

What right to training do freelancers have?

Few self-employed people are aware of this, but they are also entitled to ongoing training. As a freelancer, you pay a set of contributions each year that entitle you to pension or social security benefits. The good news is that this also includes training! We're talking about the professional training contribution (CFP) paid by micro-entrepreneurs and auto-entrepreneurs since 2011. So English language training for freelancers is perfectly feasible.

Who pays for my training?

Depending on the nature of your business, you may be attached to a Professional Insurance Fund (FAF). These funds have an annual envelope that enables them to finance the training courses that interest you from a predefined list.

Here are the main Professional Insurance Funds:

Liberal profession Interprofessional training fund for liberal professionals (FIF-PL)
Medical professionals Training insurance fund for the medical profession (FAF-PM)
Traders and self-employed managers in commerce, industry and services Association de gestion du financement de la formation des chefs d'entreprise (Agefice)
Artist author Training insurance fund for the culture, communication and leisure sectors (AFDAS)
Craftsman, business owner registered with the Trade Register (RM) and self-employed craftsman not registered with the RM Training insurance fund for craft business owners (FAFCEA)

How to proceed?

The self-employed person must submit his or her request for reimbursement to the FAF at least one month before the start of the training course. The FAF will then send you an agreement specifying the amount covered (partial or total).

Please note: you will need to pay in advance, and will then be reimbursed by the funding organization upon presentation of proof.

New on CPF!

Freelance professionals can now benefit from a CPF account that can be used from 2019. The account will be credited for activities carried out in 2018. There will be no need to advance expenses if training is financed via this scheme.

We can help you choose your training course and put together your funding application. Don't hesitate to contact us!
