Dare to read in the original ...

Keep calm and read english

Dare to read in original version - Il corragio di leggere in versione originale -

Es wagen, in Originalversion zu lesen...

Whether you've completed your training or not, you may want to test your new knowledge or expand on it:

Reading can help!

There are several publishing houses offering novels in original versions with different formulas. Here is a selection:

  • The "Lire en version originale" collection, published by Pocket: the widest choice for the simplest presentation!

Available in English, Spanish, German, Italian, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, Portuguese and Latin, this is the collection with the most titles!

The text is simply as follows: 1 page in the original version / 1 page in French.

You'll find crime, fantasy, science fiction and romance titles.

From €6.80

Also worth a look: the "Bilingue Ciné" collection, published by Pocket, or the "Bilingue" collection, published by Folio Gallimard, with the same pagination.

  • The "Lire en ..." collection, published by LGF: raising the bar!

Available in English, Spanish, German and Italian, this collection is regularly recommended in schools!

Here, no bilingual version, but the original text on the left and vocabulary on the right.

You'll find a large number of detective and fantasy books in English (Agatha Christie, Mary Higgins Clark, Ruth Rendell, etc.).

From €5.60

  • The "Yes, you can" collection, published by Harrap's, and its 21st century authors

Yes, you can

as the name suggests, focuses exclusively on English. Nonetheless, it gives pride of place to recent authors: Harlan Coben, Douglas Kennedy, Elizabeth Georges, Helen Fielding, Anthony Horowitz and Nicholas Sparks.

In the unilingual version, however, you'll find annotations in the margins.

Also worth a read: the "Graphic Novel" collection, published by Harrap's, for those who prefer comics.

For B2 to C1 level

From €8.90

This list is by no means exhaustive, and there are many other collections. For example: "Progressez en...", ed. Vasseur (confusing presentation but mini format), Tip Tongue, ed. Syros (child/teen audience), Lectures CLE en français facile, ed. Clé International (because there are also proposals for FLE)...

Enjoy your reading! Viel Spass beim lesen! Enjoy ! Buena lectura !
